I would just like to let you know the success we have had for the last three years in treating our horses various injuries with the Bioptron light and colour therapy. 1. At the Richfields event, my horse was galloped on in the hind leg. I applied Arnica, then ice. The vet said it would take four months to heal. When we got home I used the purple colour to reduce the swelling and yellow to soothe the nerves. Soon blood and pus welled to the surface which we wiped away. We kept applying the colour therapy until there was no more, and then used the plain light to heal the wound. In six weeks she was back in work. 2. At the Taupo three-day event, I was in the NZ Young Rider Squad. At the end of the cross-country, my horse had sustained a stone bruise that was about 4 cm wide and she was very lame. The vet said it would be extremely unlikely that she would trot up sound for the showjumping. We applied purple every hour for 5-6 hours, plus the plain light. The hoof was soaked ice before the trot up. Although the vet pinched each foot, she

didn't react at all. She went on to finish 15th overall.

3. At Puhinui, we used the four-minute Stress/Relax combination the night before - and she did her best dressage ever. To balance her we put orange on her highest wither and rump points and purple on the shoulder point to help lung capacity. We use the light for everything - all the knocks, shin splints and general well being. It has kept our vet bills down to a minimum, and we don't have to leave home to use it. I would recommend it to anybody for everything, especially in helping horses.
